Re: New Track
Now, for those of us that actually have to USE the roads around East Wayne, if we could just get them to STOP using the Snake Track as a switching lead! :x Well, its about the only way to double out anything going to the Huntington or New Castle district from that end of the yard. If you double out...

Re: New Castle District (Muncie area) ATCS online
Sunday 5/5/13 we put the next section of ATCS into service, taking in Campbellstown Ohio to Millville Indiana. Basically covering East Campbellstown to Millville Hold Out signal. We are also getting West Cast now somewhat. Stay tuned as the Muncie site is upgraded for better height and we will make ...

Re: New Castle District (Muncie area) ATCS online
Now only if we had a radio feed for NCD. :( There had been a long debate on this. I could host a radio feed but it would be for Muncie area. I've been told the radio feed is ok until more than a couple people get on it then it drains bad. If that is true or not, I'm not sure. but it has been debate...

Re: New Castle District (Muncie area) ATCS online
Well the Muncie server is back up and running again. We will be adding another server on the south end shortly and keep planning on other sites as we can.

Re: Wherediz 3/16/2013
The N&W did look at the GR&I route in the Final system planning for Conrail and the holders of the PC estate. There were too many issues from what I've heard with the routing. As to the history books, Muncie was quickly becoming a industrial location, and the railroads wanted in on the action, thus ...

Re: New Castle District (Muncie area) ATCS online
Muncie ATCS is down, and we are moving the server to a new location. We are not sure how long this will take though. Plan are still in the works to bring 1 more server online at some point too, probably south either New Castle or Hagerstown/Richmond areas, depending. Final stage plan is to attempt a...

Re: NW caboose in Bluffton today
I forget how it works there, but I know there is a track NS uses. I just remember we could leave stuff in there. There is a main and then the interchange and something about so many feet from the last crossing.

Re: New Castle District scanner feed
We have talked about doing one for the Muncie area, in conjunction with the ATCS. The ATCS at Muncie will come down next week and be moved to a new location that we are unsure when we will hook it all up and have it online. Might be quick, might be a while. We hope the new location gets better recep...

Re: Progress Rail in Muncie
I'll confirm they use a NS AAR designated "SOUTHERN" channel, I think 54. They have used it since start up. I had it in my radio and heard them moving around the first engines (Ferromex) To be honest, there isn't much chatter unless they are doing testing. You will hear a mess of stuff that unless y...

Re: R J Corman
There was talk a year ago about the RJ Corman/NS Line has this gone cold and dead or is there something still in store for this line ? Are they storing cars on this line ? Mike I've not heard much of anything about this in months, but again I was told 2013 was the end of the lease. What date, I hav...

Re: Wabash central expanding?
What has been leaked is that most of the operations in local areas will go into the New Castle facility. I don't have any real info other than that and I take it for what its worth until I'm told directly. They have a facility in a neighboring community that will most likely be moved here and additi...

Re: Wabash central expanding?
The CNUR (Connersville & New Castle RR) is now active again, getting sand from CSX at Connersville and taking to New Castle to unload for the foundry there, then NS sending scrap gons to the scrap yard in New Castle and the CNUR delivers those. I've not heard yet, but rumors persist that Crown will ...

Re: White poles at NS bridges?
I think that placing white poles at each end of a bridge is something that the Southern side has done since well before the N&W/SOU merger. Must have finally made it a systemwide policy. I asked this and was told it was due to a conductor falling off a small bridge someplace years ago and would go ...

Re: EMD Demonstrators at East Wayne
These have been at the fueling rack in Muncie behind Progress rail for probably a month if not more. I'd bet when the first CP units rolled out, these went north too, but I could be wrong.

Re: NKP Lapped Sidings
Was told the siding at Campbellstown on the New Castle District was a lapped siding until the N&W purchase and it was redone to make straight track through it and jogged it over. Wayne, do you know the truth? Its certainly set up that way. Had a old head comment that he believed ZA siding was done t...
