Re: AMV Barn

Jett, was that first barn even a N-Scale barn? It was almost as tall as your grain elevator silos! Stuck out like a sore thumb. Your second barn is much more to scale; doesn't take over the whole scene like the first barn did. Can any and all six-axle diesels negotiate the curves on the "new...

Re: Freedom Train in Kendallville

I read many years ago that Conrail operated on the GR&I from Lagrange, IN. to Sturgis, MI. on a Indiana state subsidy. The rail service ended in 1979 after the funding ended. Gary

Re: Where in the World? 8/11/11

The rusty old signs i've noticed in Goshen seem to a "no trespassing" message with more verbal elaboration. They are old, i'd wager 1920 to 1940 era. Gary

Re: AMV FREEBIES

 Gee, jett, i would've figured the AMV would just keep this "excessive trackage" in case another expansion is in order! Headed to Van Wert, 'ey? I might head over that way but as a customer, not a vendor. Yep, my vendor days are over. The only time i display what's left of my N-Scale wares is...

Re: AMV 5-6-13

Jett, i think there could be much more availiable in N-Scale vehicles. I have 4 Athearn Ford semi tractor-trailer sets, arguably the most detailed and realistic trucks i've ever seen in N-Scale. But most of these are long sold out and Athearn hasn't annouced any more production runs of these models....

Re: North Judson,Indiana - now & then

It's hard for me to believe it's been 40 years since me and Dad visited the junction in the summer of '72 and '73. All four rail lines were still active then and i in particular was thrilled to see the colorful paint schemes of the Erie-Lackawana trains running through the junction. When i visited N...

Re: New Fertilizer, Grain Facilities Near Milford Junction

All the cones, signs and barriers have been removed by the Kosciusko Co. Hwy. Dept. at the three sets of gate posts that ring the facility property. Now permanent gates have been installed at the County Line Rd./ Old State Rd. 15 intersection, at the east end of the now closed C.R. 1350 North/C.R. 1...

Re: New Fertilizer, Grain Facilities Near Milford Junction

It's not Continental Grain and Barge (CGB) that will own the Milford facility, but a company called Tru Pointe Co-Op, based in Piqua, OH. Their plans for the Milford ag plants are printed on their website. When i drove by the area last Friday, i noticed two big earth-movers parked side by side with ...

Re: New Fertilizer, Grain Facilities Near Milford Junction

Beginning last Friday, March the 1st, Old State Road 15 is now closed permanently to public traffic. Signs up on each end of the closure stated "permanately closed" March 1. Now the Kosciusko Highway Dept. has put up reflective barriers in front of the gate posts, no gates have been installed yet. I...

It was formed January, 2013. Monthly club meetings are generally held on the third Saturday of the month at designated plac...

Re: New Paint for CF&E and another loco for ND&W

And we're talking about the 'ole Pennsy here! Always a heavy duty piece of railroad with heavy rail, thick ballast and a good, solid sub-ballast base. Can run any four or six-axle locomotive on here!!!
