Re: Transpoint Intermodal Yard project

When I was shipping containers between Indy and Asia several years ago, it was cheaper and faster to rail to/from Chicago and truck between Chicago and Indy. When NW had a ramp here, East Coast container would go via Chicago and New Orleans containers would go via Toledo. They will have trouble comp...

Re: Turntable Looking East

When I worked for the N&W in the summer of 1973, the turntable and several stalls of the round house were still there. It was being used by a company that lined the inside of tank cars. There was a building near Fairfield where a local was stationed along with the local M of W crew. On the East side...

Re: Welded Rail

I saw 3 empty rail trains at East Wayne today including 1 on the RIP track. About a month ago I saw an empty Ferromex rail train heading east on the Huntington district at Anthony. SDI must be busy

Triple Crown

I happen to run across thousands of Triple Crown trailers on Meyer Road. I wonder what their fate is.

Out and about on Friday, October 9th

Waterloo 2015-10-09 B.jpg Waterloo 2015-10-09 A.jpg Went to Waterloo in the morning and NS was busy with trains. In the afternoon, there were some new locomotives at East Wayne. With 3 inches to spare, O52 waits at North River Road for extra eyes before crossing the Maumee river. 289's headlight is...

Train Watching Friday Oct 2

I had the day off and arrived at Garrett around 9:00. Saw 4 stack trains and 1 loaded and 1 empty coal trains, all eastbound by 11:00. By noon there was also an eastbound and westbound general freight. The dispatcher advised that he was holding 10 eastbound's west of Cromwell due to a bottle neck at...

Re: Water Plant & Spy Run Ave. Track

I don't know the last time it was used, but it was used after the 50's I remember taking pictures of a tank car sitting by the ball diamond on 4th St 25-30 years ago. My understanding was that PC or Conrail would spot the tank car there, and then a trackmobile would come and take it to the filtratio...

Re: Where are those new engines going?

The last 2 are gone from East Wayne today.

Are they a different model then the earlier locomotives from Progress. The rear end is different from the earlier locomotives, it almost looks like the are tunnel motors

Hi Jett
Great pictures. Thanks for posting them. Unfortunately, I am going to miss the newbies in East Wayne as I am playing in Florida :D If you get to the Miami area, I would highly recommend going to this museum, It is awesome.

Re: Progress Rail

Watching the Chesterton webcam and just saw a westbound train go by being led by 2 NS, 1 CP and 4 new looking CP locomotives. That is the same line up of the first 7 locomotives through Fort Wayne on Tuesday. I wonder if they are the same locomotives
