Re: Proposed EL Track Removal

BTW, try www.multimodalways.org I just noticed that the original poster misspelled the website name. Its run by a member of the CRHS, Daniel Van Epps and is an awesome resource for old Conrail material like track charts, freight schedules, etc.

Re: Where Diz 1 20 2011

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say its where the interurban line crossed the FW&J in Ft. Wayne near 4th street.

Re: Out & About 1/21/2011

I am assuming that 20E is Mail-8 from CR days. I think 22K is old Mail-8M IIRC, which would make it the hottest train on the railroad if I am right. :?

Re: train shows - upcoming

I will if Chuck tells me that the Ft. Wayne show at Coliseum Bingo is sold out. I'll know for certain after this weekend if its time to pursue doing the Muncie show or not. You got contact info for the promoter down the CIOR?

Re: train shows - upcoming

Mike the show you refer to in Shipshewanna is actually at the Essen Haus which is located in Middlebury, IN along US 20 and its on Feb. 19th from 9:30am to 3pm. The Nappanee, IN show is on March 19th at its same location as always, the Borkholder Village location just west of Nappanee and north a mi...

Re: #765 question for Kelly Lynch or others

The story that was in an old black and white book put out by FWRHS in the early 80's when I rode one of their excursions to Muncie, IN(this was probably around 1982 or so) is that the city requested 767 because it was the engine that opened the viaduct thru downtown. Unfortunately the 767 was not in...

There is no foundation left at Broadway in New Haven, as a New Haven resident I can say that with 100 percent certainty!

Re: Proposed EL Track Removal

I think the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum retained a short one mile stretch of track east of North Judson when they abandoned the line from there to Monterrey. Not sure if the short stretch in Rochester, IN still exists or not :?

Re: GR&I List of Stations & Sidings 1904

I have checked my 1976 and 1980 Conrail Western Region ETT's and all of my Penn Central Western Region ETT's and cannot find any reference to the name Park for that location. Its listed as "GR&I Crossing" in all of them so unless it was listed in a later Conrail ETT as such(like the Dearborn Divisio...

Re: NYC Elkhart Museum Mohawk 3001

I associate my hometown, New Haven, with the NKP 765 and proudly tell folks that fact whenever I see it operating. If the NYC 3001 returned to operation, I would associate it with Elkhart and tell folks about it everytime I seen it run. Unfortunately though that would make sense and you can't do any...

I've heard that the Waterloo, IN depot can be rented out for events, who do I contact about this? I have been given the green light to pursue an idea by the society so any help would be appreciated. If you wish to contact me off list about it, email me at chowetrains@frontier.com
