Re: Proposed EL Track Removal

JW, that is an excellent suggestion about Van Wert's Job Ready Site. That should have been looked into to get the rail from the EL. Anything to lower the cost of the project. By the way, I believe they have until Friday to get the paper work in for the JRS. I believe that is the deadline. I guess w...

Re: Where Diz ? 6/7/10

Dangit, I gotta start paying more attention! CJ and I spent waaaayyyyy too many hours of our youth at that spot. Ahh, all the things that kids get themselves in to.

Re: Coal trains?

I think you are right on the money there Mike. From what I know, CP paid NS to build the interchange and pays for trackage rights over those portions of the line it utilizes. But save for an emergency, NS doesn't use the connector for it's own trains, I think that was even spelled out in the agreeme...

Re: Circus train - NS Chicago Line Wednesday.

I guess I should have paid more attention, but I saw one of the Circus train sets heading west on the Chicago Line about 2 weeks ago one afternoon. Perhaps it was the other trainset.

Re: Question for Greg

Thanks for bringing it up Jett. Yes, last week on May 19 at 5:16am our boy was born. 9lb .9oz. We named him Logan Patrick Lavoie.

Mom and Logan are both doing good. Logan seems to be about as healthy as a horse from what we can tell.

Re: Hurry Up And Wait

Ah, yea I noticed that too DL. It makes a nice little road to sit on and watch trains though, a lot less traffic :)

It is really starting to look different around there, I still can't picture that road bridging across everything though.

Re: Hurry Up And Wait

Why is Maumee closed here? It seems like a pretty heavily used road considering. There is quite a few business's back on this road. I take it from you guys's comments that it's a permenent closure?

Re: Edgerton Track Derailment Update

Well, today's work took me about a mile past the derailment site within 200yards of the tracks and spending the morning outside. I watched Hulcher backing their trucks back down the closed CR8 road from the closed bridge and head out of town back towards home. hulcherleavingmelburn.jpg As far as I c...

Re: New Waterlevel Derailment

Sorry guys, I couldn't make it out there yesterday as I was busy until about 9:30 last night. Perhaps today after work I'll run out there and see whats left. At a meeting I was at last night I heard from a reporter that the local paper photographer was able to go up in the air with a local pilot to ...

ATCS and Audio feed to go silent

Group, Due to the impending sale of the building that is home to our ATCS and streaming audio equipment at the end of the month, I am forced to turn off the radio's and disband the service. I'm saddened to do this as I know many people have come to enjoy these services quite frequently. If there is ...

Re: Audio

Well the future of that is still up in the air at this point. I am going to approach the new management about keeping our equipment there but I'm not holding my breath, but we'll see. Reguarding the audio not working, I wasn't aware until now. I played with it a little but no luck. For now it'll hav...

Re: ATCS not working for me

Hmm, that's very strange, I do see somewhat of a problem. Try doing this for me, use this address to try to connect, 65.25.154.112, port 4800. What happens? What IP address are you trying to connect from? I looked up the address from your last post and it doesn't show up in my ATCS server log. There...

Railroader has now left the group. I don't mind people having intelligent conversation but name calling like his is uncalled for and rude.

Railroad lingo

Today I was driving around town with my radio on and I heard the dispatcher talking to 17M and he said something that I couldn't understand. Toledo West: "17M, go ahead and crawl up to (CP)352 and wait there. I have a train coming off the lake (division) that you'll hold for; he's picking up a mail ...
