Re: NCD Eastbounds Question

There isn't anything anymore. There use to be the routine of the 443/444 both working Muncie but that has been long gone. The 2 locals and the 2 trains that run Muncie-Fort Wayne do that type bidding now. Everything move north to Fort Wayne. If you mean what could possibly pick up at Muncie and go s...

FMG released from Muncie 6/15/12

L82 snagged 5 of the FMG export units today out of Progress Rail, they went into the Yard. The 368 will probably drag them north tonight and take them to East Wayne.

Trains reported that they would release the Heritage units, but that didn't happen as of my departure from town.

Re: NS Anniversery Heritage Units

1.5 units per day I believe is the projected plan. I've heard NOTHING about refurb work, and that Muncie will be all new production, plus passenger production if that comes to be. Heard that they have reserved part of the plant for that as well.

Re: R J Corman

So this means the BIG plans that were on everybodys minds a while back has hit a roadblock? NS must have had some extra money so got rid of it on their end. JW JW, I've heard that its all centering around the lease date. if that is the case that is a bit off yet. Of course the rumors of NS taking b...

Re: using old refractory brick for fill?

Wayne, I recall Dale telling me the story of Robo's death and how it all played out. I never asked if the local had the same name or not. I know Dale said it happened coming down the hill into Richmond. Next time you go through, look at the old NYC bridge, there were bricks down in there. My grandfa...

Re: using old refractory brick for fill?

There are a few spots that you can find firebrick on the New Castle district between New Castle and Richmond (or use to be able to). I was told this wasn't true fill the railroad was built on but rather use to keep erosion away. Then they used ballast over top. The last place you could really see th...

Re: 1st place hobbies

Well, you only have to have a "Brick and Mortar" for certain distributors, many others don't care. It must be ok, their site is back up. It was reported that several people couldn't get ahold of them via phone or email and that their site was down. Several people checked and their domain was good th...

Re: Connector Track at Claypool Junction

NS is only running the 142 north out of Muncie via Alexandria, to Elkhart, but are still running the grain via this routing.
There are running the other trains up north to Fort Wayne to Claypool then to Elkhart.

Rumor is that NS doesn't want to pull the ME pool just yet.
