Re: Marquette Rail at Ludington Michigan

I imagine the "sun kink" label pic, there was probably a signal there at one time. Many roads did this as there use to be a rule about signals on the right side of the track. That or you put up a bridge or cantilever.

Re: NKP east of Muncie

Mike up until around 2000, Corman still came to Portland to interchange and we still interchanged unit grain trains with them there. It was around that time that all the traffic started moving to the east to Lima for interchange. I'd been told a million and one things as to why NS got rid of the lin...

Re: NKP east of Muncie

Rumors.
There are talks of NS taking back the line from Corman..to NS just running a couple junk freights across the line, and so on.
I will tell you the remaining grade crossings have all been cut and are prepared to be replaced.

NKP east of Muncie

Well the L99 was called today to grab the rest of the cars over by the state line and drag them back to Muncie, they are then to go on to Fort Wayne for points unknown at this point. Thanks to a heads up, we decided to catch them on the return trip to Muncie. Grabbed them just on the west side of Po...

Re: Hey im off to Indiana Soon

How many days are you planning on for this trip.
The reason I ask is you need to spend several hours at a couple locations and the drive time between several of them are so great 1 day won't do.

Re: Website Chat Page

I'm on it on a daily basis, and I stand by my comments. It was once a great source of info, now...... What changed? Heck there is more info on there now and more members that post than ever. Info comes onto the board and is pretty accurate. With the exception of a few members (of whom if you spend ...

:? Maybe because that this board deals w/FACTS, and not a bunch of idiots nonsensical crap. AKA, the indiana board, for the most part. I, for one, prefer to keep this board the way it is-a factual discussion on local rrding. I curious about your Indiana board comment? Considering it has a co...

Re: The End of Indiana HI-Rail

The guy that claimed to be writing the article showed up in a few forums asking for information, as is the case most of the time, no one had any real info. A writer can only use general information so far. Also if they aren't closely tied with the area, then its easy to make mapping mistakes. Grante...

Re: Radio signal c102

When I hired the local supervisor (a man with 30 years of railroading background) actually interviewed me. The process was just starting with the batch hiring, but it isn't anything like now. I guess it changed over the next few years after I hired because I would hear many of the new guys talk abou...
