Re: Heads UP Fort Wayne!...CF&E 3316 in G&W Colors

You didn't miss it in Elida Ken. It wasn't on the EB FWLI. But, it should have been in the CF&E Cole St. yard at the time waiting to head WB to the Fort later.

Heads UP Fort Wayne!...CF&E 3316 in G&W Colors

CF&E 3316 in G&W colors was through Van Wert WB at around 8:40PM Friday night. It was the 3rd unit in the consist of the return FWLI from Lima. Maybe it will be in the Fort tomorrow morning yet. Hope you guys around the Fort can catch it. Unless, the FWCH runs tonight yet. Catch it if you can.

Re: Conrail division maps

I've looked at those before. They're quite interesting. Can spend a lot of time browsing through them. The poor Pennsylvania. I hope G&W can do something with the old PRR.

STB Approves GWI Purchase of RailAmerica...

Over on the RRfan forum Midland Sub posted that the merger has been approved for GWI purchasing RA. Bring on the orange! Should be interesting to see the changes come as they come. Hopefully, the CF&E will figure in GWI's plans.

The first 2 containers that were brought in that are by the junction had equipment in them for the crossings in town. And JW now you're saying you saw another container come into town. Interesting. My friend talked to the signal maintainer for the area. Supposed to be I believe LED lights for all cr...

Re: Maumee & Western

The track is probably worse than that on much of the MAW. No more than 1 train out and back between Defiance and Napoleon a day when they run. Don't look for much if any improvement in track conditions. Usually they only do MOW work when they have a derailment. Most money is kept in the owners pocke...

Re: next local train show?

There is one in Greenville,OH this Sunday, September 16. Should be a good show. It is at the Darke County fairgrounds in the the Coliseum there on St. Rt 49 on the southside of town. There is also a basement in it that will have the layouts and possibly some vendors there besides the main vendor are...

Re: INER June, July & August 2012

Thanks for the updates. Looks like it'll really be nice rolling on the high iron once they're done. What will be the speed limit on the sections with new rail? 25 mph or so? I wish the CF&E around Van Wert and else where had track that looked that good. They could use some of the new and longer stic...

Here we go again! I really hope this all works out. We're going to have a lot of wind turbines in Van Wert County. I hope they continue turning long term.

Re: You guys ready for some orange paint?

I still think CSX will have some say on what happens on the CF&E. I hope the G&W purchase includes the CF&E as is and continues to roll. I just have this feeling that CSX may be able to pull the lease of the CF&E if they don't like something about G&W running it. I really hope I'm wrong. I'm ready f...

Re: Van Wert 2012 Railroad Heritage Weekend...

The show is almost here!. We have 116 tables this year. Bumped up quite a few tables this year. Had to turn some vendors away this year. :( If we keep this up we may need to get the building beside the Commercial building for next year or so also. Vendors from Pennsylvania including Philadelphia, So...

Re: Van Wert 2012 Railroad Heritage Weekend...

It's almost here! This will be our biggest show yet. If you get a chance come on over to Van Wert at the County Fairgrounds, 1055 S. Washington St. in the Commercial Building. The biggest building on the fairgrounds. Admission is still $2 which goes to the Van Wert County Historical Society. Stop by...
