Re: W&LE units through Van Wert on CF&E WB...

Some guys on the Indiana board said the units got to Warsaw , IN last night. Plus, a guy from RRfan board on his lunch break in Lima said the 2 units were in the CF&E Lima Cole St. yard today. So, I don't know if they have already returned to the W&LE or are still around Lima. Apparently, CF&E used ...

W&LE units through Van Wert on CF&E WB...

At 10:35PM WB CF&E train LIFW had W&LE units 6356/6358 along with 46 cars. The last 26 cars were W&LE empty welded rail cars. All exBC Rail and 1 exPGE. My guess the empty welded rail cars are going to SDI west of Fort Wayne. Most likely they'll go back through Van Wert EB later in the week with a l...

Nice catch on the Wheeling units. I think I like the catch on the ex-MNS now NOKL grain hopper the best. 8) Great pics!

FEC 505 now CFE 505.....

Last Saturday in the PM my friend BIll saw FEC 505 in Van Wert going out to Continental Structural Plastics on the old Cincinnati Northern to drop/pickup plastics hoppers there. When it went past his house the former FEC unit had CFE letters in the hurricane logo in place of the FEC letters. 8) This...

Re: A Couple of Video's

Great catches Jett! I like seeing the DM&E/IC&E units and the BNSF units/stack train. I model the BNSF in the Big Sky country and that looks like one of the stack trains through there. Heavy on Mearsk/Sealand and CGM/CMA containers. Cool! 8) Thanks for posting.

Re: Looking for a contact for VW railroad club

If your looking for the one for the Van Wert County Historical Society we will be meeting on Wednesday night at 7PM in the basement of the historical society. We're currently working on a N scale 2 x 6 layout. We took it to the Dayton train show at Hara Arena in early November. Also, in time we will...

Great photos! Man, it's really different now. That would've been neat to see at the time. Is the line going off to the right in the photos the one that used to cross US 30?

Re: Ontario Northland

The old Algoma Central going up from Sault St. Marie did the same thing on the railroad at that time. Even on the train we were on. People could wave/flag down the train and it would stop and pick them up. I don't know if this occurs now since it was bought or not. It is totally different around Ind...

You know what jett? You should just lease your power from the Berkey Power Brokers. That way when your lease expires you could pick up some other power your railroad desires/needs. Let's face it Berk never runs out of POWER! He always has something to sell or lease. :D

NS Hirail heavy duty truck in Van Wert...

Saw a NS heavy duty truck in Van Wert at the Scott Equity elevator last Thursday in the very late afternoon. Had a single axle dually and was by siding by the new grain bin the elevator put up. The guy was just getting back in the truck when we went by. Definitely had NS logos on both cab doors. Don...

Re: SP 9362

Good to hear that 9362 is in the area. I wonder how much work that the CF&E will do at the new shops. I'm going to have to get over there. CFE could potentionally bring CFE work and I&O work there. Of course this would be a RailAmerica decision. Going to be interesting to see what comes of the new s...

As for now it no longer exists. I read about it somewhere and the man that owned the bar where it was hung is no longing doing it. I don't remember the exact gist of it, but it's done for now. :(

CFE New Engine/ Car Repair shop/Office in FTW...

It's been since Spring since CFE/RA announced that they were going to build this facility in Ft. wayne. What is the status on this building project? It's been very quiet about this since it was announced. Are they still going to build this/are? Since they have been doing MOW work in Ohio/Indiana I w...
