Re: A Pennsy T1 at speed

I have the hard copy of the Trains magazine in which this article by
Mr. Crosby was published. What is not well known is John Crosby's
photography.John took this picture of my Father, a PRR fireman and
engineman,probably in 1946.

Thanks

An interesting place name, "Miami JT".
It's just above the railyard notation.

NS 098 Today

NS 098 thru NE this evening Fostoria to Huntington at 10:17 P.M.
Loaded with big white unfo's on flat cars.I heard it go West of Hugo.
The loaded things were as in the lousy pic, or large and rectangle.
No blades or tower parts.Any added info out there?

Thanks

Re: Kell Road in the 1930's

Hotbox: I didn’t find any timetables that listed a stop on the FtW&J at Stoner’s Crossing, which was the name of the interurban stop at the concrete shelter on Shoaff Rd. If you find any, please give me a copy, or at least the date. Craig Berndt The January 1910 Official Guide lists "Stoner's" as a...

Re: Kell Road in the 1930's

Coincidently,I was speaking to Kell the wellguy, in
our subdivision , yesterday.
I read that Mr.Berndt is referencing eyewitnesses.
Thanks for the map.I remember rabbit hunting near
the concrete shelter in the early 1970's.

Re: NCD Eastbounds Question

The 197 would be the most likely candidate to take them south out of Ft Wayne if that were indeed the case since it works East Wayne Yard. The 143,173,175,177 etc come off the Chicago District bypassing East Wayne altogether. I think it's very unlikely a road train would stop at Muncie to pick them...

Re: NCD Eastbounds Question

If you mean what could possibly pick up at Muncie and go south with the power from Progress. The L82 could easily pull them and put them in the Delco track for pickup. Thank you , CIOR, for answering.I got bit for asking this question on a national site.I just wondered if any train could add two de...

Do any through Eastbounds pick up in Muncie?

At 1:20 A.M. E.S.T.,NS34N power moved out of East Wayne yard and backed onto it's train.(you just have to be patient to wait for a really cool photo. Here is my photo of NS 1065 being backed onto 34N at said time.
