Re: Will Detroit's demise spell an end to Huntington District ?

That is encouraging news, thanks. CIOR's comment about the removal of thru traffic and the subsequent reliance upon local business is no doubt absolutely correct, it seems to happen that way everywhere. My thought being that very little 'local' business really exists in the Fort. How many businesse...

Re: ns operational changes on the NKP and wabash sides?

Well for awhile 16K terminated at Buckeye Yd. With the expansion of the intermodal traffic on the Heartland corridor, it's inevitable that the NKP from Chicago to Fostoria will see more traffic? With the automotive traffic on the brink of vanishing. The wabash from Butler to Decatur Ill will still s...

ns operational changes on the NKP and wabash sides?

Hi guys, i haven't been railfanning up that way in awhile and have lost track on all the changes on the NKP side. Living here in Columbus i'm wondering if somebody who lives in and around the fort could bring me up to speed on all the changes that have affected the Lake division. perhaps Mr Howe or ...

Re: NS 247 and other new symbols

The reason being a pedestrian hit and killed over on the Dayton District while wondering over the Mad River Bridge in Springfield Ohio which 116, 117, and 179 travel on. And as for the Roadrailer 249 it also travels down the Dayton district.

17R reroute

For those of you who haven't heard 17R in awhile. It was rerouted up to the Water level route a few months ago, and it still is a Clearing Yard-Columbus train. I wonder what the reasoning behind that decision was?

Re: Keith's Video

thats probably why you don't see me working on the railroad. although i'd like to get a transportation related job, it won't be working on a train thats for sure. I wanted to work on the railroad when i was child, but they only hire folks who don't know diddly about throwing a frozen switch.

ok all you hoosiers, from what i heard 13J was supposed to be a westbound counterpart of 17R, but that is not the case. As a railfan who frequents the central ohio area from Columbus to fostoria and beyond i can say the 13J has and is known to carry everything. everytime i see it there is always gra...
