Re: Seen at East Wayne Sat.
This caboose is on the Elkhart & Western at Argos, IN. Number is PREX 2 and appears to be ex-Chessie C3768, I couldn't really read it that well.

Re: CF&E Valpo & Hamlet
Rossborough is the name of the magesium plant. They normally set the cars from Plymouth in the passing track by the foundry and run out to Rossborough and do their work. At Plymouth they switch DelMonte (food products), Bomarko (paper for food products) and Pregis (plastic packaging).

NS has one customer just north of Walkerton it services once or twice a week. From that point to where the South Shore ownership begins is out of service.

Thank you very much! I was a mere 4 years old when that tower met its fate. What about Hamlet, Hobart, and Columbia City?[/quote]
Sorry, I don't have that info for other towers.

I went through Swayzee today and the NKP flat car is still there. Looks like they are getting ready to put some ties in, just enough to hold the guage.

I don't know if it is still there or not, the last time I saw it was in October 2005.

Would that be Portland, Indiana on the LE&W? Looks like a Nickel Plate signal in the back ground.

Re: Where Diz ?
The interchange track and original tower were in the northwest corner of the diamond. The new tower, built in 1926, was in the southeast corner and the PRR depot was south of the tower. The NKP depot was east of SR 5.

Re: Claypool Northeast connector work.
That Goggle map is old, the connector that is shown was removed years ago. The new connector will come off the old NKP east of Church Street and will connect with the old Big 4 near Walnut Street.
