Re: Where in the World? 10/21/10

After checking Google street view i would say they have been there more recently than you, a few changes, but the cracks in road look the same even :) I guess that survey flag in your picture was for the power line construction maybe. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=ft+wa...

Re: Where in the World? 10/21/10

Looks a little like Thomas rd. heading south at the old NKP, with something (stacks?) using the old PRR to the south?

Re: New Signals On The Marion District

There is a pair of bases, but next to them is ATCS antenna masts, been there since right before new signals were cut over, now some day we shall see if they have 1 for N Leesburg and one for South, or if they build a "mini BCP" there too. Either option seems likely, but if one was for N Leesburg, wh...

Re: New Signals On The Marion District

If this moves as fast as other signal projects on the NS Dearborn division, we have a while. I think the best way to improve traffic flow on the north end of the Marion Dist. would be a second track across CSX , with as much as they can add on both sides, the New Paris siding will help a little maybe...

Re: Where Diz 9-24

Well, the bracket signal tells me east of Ft. Wayne, as does the mile post, all signals west of Ft. Wayne have been replaced that I know of(On Lake Division trackage atleast), might be some west of Hobart still). plus MP 400 is just west of South Whitley. So without checking track charts and cheatin...

Re: 177

Most evenings lately I have noticed either on ATCS or just being out and about that NS seems to run a southbound parade of 3 or 4 trains down the Marion Dist. in late afternoon through early evening. Not as close by the time they hit Warsaw, must be CSX holding up 1 or 2 of them at Milford most nigh...

Re: CR Muncie 12-1985

I noticed that too! And was curious, I wonder what determines how long they leave the different rules and switch targets and all on the Conrail lines they got in the merger, is it a union reason? or a mass confusion reason? The way they seem to be routing trains on all these connections must be half...

Marion Branch ATCS early release

Anyone care to test my early layout and MCP info? It uses what is in the master from the ATCS group other than near Wabash on the Huntington Dist and also the only 2 MCPs online on the Marion District, N Speicher and Claypool, Claypool replaced E Claypool and received a Marion District Address for t...

Re: Claypool Northeast connector work.

ATCS layout for the Chicago line will need lots of work at "Claypool" as it replaced E Claypool as the mcp, i have been slowly gathering logs and working on a Marion Dist layout, now is a bad time to share what I have, but i have logged a train that had been cut with the head end on the Marion Dist ...

Re: Claypool Northeast connector work.

Coach track at CP 421 is a common waiting place for southbounds, they either send them down 1 and time it well at 412, or send them down 2 and time it well at 415, going from 1 to the marion branch needs a nice hole in action , but probably cuts down the time the next nb is sitting at leesburg. I ca...
