Re: 1st. Anniversary of Last Post

Thanks Mark and to everyone that visits and posts to the site. I'm always glad that this board always stays on topic and runs smoothly even without any "supervision". From time to time I ponder different idea's for the website, especially a way to keep the train symbols page up to date. I've done so...

Re: NCD Work

You'll hear this all the time as you listen to the scanner. It's simply someone asking for permission from the dispatcher to place their truck on the rails to do routine inspections or minor fixes like fixing welds or signal wires along the tracks, happens every day. The dispatcher will give them "t...

I believe it is a sugar maple, if I'm not mistaken Mark; although I am nothing close to an arborist.

I frequently park under it and eat my lunch trackside whenever I'm working around the Edgerton area.

Best of all, nobody get's hurt because if you point that at somebody trying to mug you, they'll just laugh and think you're mentally ill and walk away. :D

I've been told many times that you can usually call the INE office and ask about when/where they'll be running and they will tell you.

Re: Any Interest for an NS Chicago Line audio feed?

Hey Joe, try this one. Sorry I never posted this on here when I created it long ago. Note that for some reason Windows Media player doesn't work well with my stream so you may have to use winamp or another player to listen.

For ATCS use

Holy cow, that thing looks like it'd just flip the trailer over in a stiff breeze.

Re: CN

Did the CN serve what is now called Titan Tire in Bryan OH formerly General Tire ? They are also currently the only industry served by rail in Bryan anymore as well. I'm not sure how often they get cars in or out of the plant because I've seen a string of a dozen or so tank cars parked in the middl...

Re: 10/12/2011

Was in Defiance diamond looks like it is ready to be installed, side note MAW had a derailment, I heard it was a loco. the only damage i could see was what looked like a mud puddle where a flurry of activity looked as if it had taken place, like re-railing something but other than that all is quiet...

Now if we could just get rid of those stupid white pipes sticking up all over the place around
A cordless reciprocating saw would make quick work of that problem.

Re: Where in the World? 8/11/11

From the weathering of the sign I'm going to guess somewhere on the abandoned EL line. I think maybe I've seen this sign or another like it on my travels of the line between Huntington and Newton.

Hey Notch, were you in Bryan earlier this week? Either Monday or Tuesday on my way home from work I saw one of your company's trucks parked outside JCIM.

Re: Trains seen on NCD!

Actually if it's not something that can be easily fixed on the spot they can cut-out the trailer. It requires pulling the bad trailer to a road crossing, cutting off the train ahead of the affected trailer, getting a truck backed up to the bad trailer and pulling it out of the train. Then set down t...

C102's equal MONEY MONEY MONEY in my pocket. And you wonder why we can only switch half as many cars or less than the old heads did lol. It's now a "ruleroad" and not a railroad :D Sadly 15 years ago a "that'll do" and common sense was good enough to go in between equipment. I remember when they ca...

Perhaps part of an old mounting frame for road signs or a NKP sign of sorts?
