Here's the place to just kick back and discuss pretty much anything under the sun.

NS 324

Post by Ed Mosser » Tue Jul 07, 2009 10:39 pm

I have heard an NS 324 the past two nights thru Valpo around 9pm, westbound.

Up until a year ago, 324 was the Elkhart - FtWayne counterpart to 365. It was discontinued last year. Now the symbol has reappeared, but operating westbound.

Anyone know what is up?

I watched 324 as it passed Valpo at 930. It had 65 cars, mostly EJE empty coil cars. It is a similar (but larger) train to 323.

Does anyone know if this is a Van Loon turn? and where the cars run to?

324 tied down at Hibbard about 1:40 pm and was recrewed about 7:00 pm. because of track work west of Knox.
