Candy stripers stranded in the Fort?

Here's the place to just kick back and discuss pretty much anything under the sun.

Candy stripers stranded in the Fort?

Post by Hotbox » Sat Nov 10, 2012 9:05 am

Thursday afternoon about 2:15 PM, driving north on West Hamilton road from Illinois road, and a motionless train sat across my path at the NS crossing.

But hey, those were no ordinary tanker cars straddling the grade crossing, they were those fancy two tone jobbies with the purty red band. Several of them bunched together in fact.

For a second I thought back to that old Jimmy Cagney movie....."TOP O' THE WORLD,...MA!"

Train sat quite a while too.

What were the initials on the cars? (eg. UTLX, PROX, etc.)

Embarrassing, but I have no clue. I sat there for quite a while before giving up and turning around, and despite my front row seat, I can't recall the reporting marks.
