Nice memories. I removed that bridge over Junk Ditch as part of the Hadley Connection project a few years later.
I tried to talk NS into leaving it in-place for a future walking trail to Swinney Park, but the lawyers said no bridge=no liability.

Dunfee in 1994...I would've biked there a few times that summer to watch trains. Thanks for the memories!

Sadly, I might have a photo of that bridge coming down. (if I can find it, that is...and scan it,...and create an account somewhere, .....and upload it.)

Hi JW, it was nice meeting you too.

Hi Mike, Look forward to seeing your picture, although I wish the bridge was still there. It would have been I nice addition to the river greenway.

I know. Like I said before, my pleas fell on deaf ears. Zero tolerance for liability is an impossible standard to maintain for any length of time.

Was the (surviving) bridge across Spy Run creek already city property?

Love the picture of 611 coming out of the Maumee River Bridge at North River Road crossing. Seen a lot of trains go through that bridge during my years of growing up and living in New Haven.
