Where has everybody gone?
What has happened to all the posters we used to have?

busy I quess....
Re: Where has everybody gone?
Other boards that I visit have slowed as well but not as much as this board has slowed.
Need a way to let new members join. This board is bombarded with bogus request and
that makes it difficult to tell the difference between an legitimate request vs a spammer.

Re: Where has everybody gone?
Well, I'll be honest, this site just seems kind of dead now. I've gotten on this site for over ten years and it's went from a site that got regular updates to no updates. It's little more than a discussion board anymore. I've switched to other sites that do update and stay current.I checked the links page last week and most now do not work. It's frustrating for me because I've offered to update sections of this site to no response. I do think that others share the same opinion as me and have done the same thing, going to other railfan sites that stay more current. I'm really not trying to be negative, I still love this site as it's the first one I found when I really got into railfanning. I will also say that my offer still stands to update the site and I would do so on a regular basis. I would really like to see this page make a comeback. Thanks.

sun is shining so it's easier to watch trains instead of sitting in front of a computer.

Thanks for the replies. With all the views the post has had it is far from dead.

Re: Where has everybody gone?
Seems a lot of Railfans are migrating to Facebook.

I myself prefer this list. Kinda reminds me of hanging out at the old hobby shop catching up with the latest news. I also don't do Facebook. Kengetridofintersttruck wrote:Seems a lot of Railfans are migrating to Facebook.

Yes, but you might be surprised if you were to go to Facebook and search through it. It turns out there is a wealth of pictures on Facebook that never show up in forums like these, although Craig Berndt always manages to show us some fine historical pictures. Also some of them might be hard to find because there are some secret groups on Facebook, too.
Speaking of which, I tried to add a couple of pictures to his recent NE page but it tells me I'm using a incompatible format. I don't seem to have this problem in other places but I'm not really Mr. Computer Whiz, either.

The thing about Facebook is users check it many times a day so its become the way to network on current train moves.
