Heritage unit now a "worktrain"?

Here's the place to just kick back and discuss pretty much anything under the sun.

Heritage unit now a "worktrain"?

Post by Hotbox » Mon Apr 30, 2018 8:04 pm

Friday I was crossing the Huntington District on Nuttman ave and saw the NKP #8100 heritage unit sitting on a siding in New Yard, hitched up to a long string of orange MOW cars.

Surprised to see this unit in a work train.

work trains are low priority. They get whatever is available.

There could be many reasons for a unit like this to be on a work train. For example, maybe it had an issue on another through train and was set out. It became available for a work train whether it was fixed or not. More than likely it was fixed before going out.
