NS 247 and other new symbols

Post by chowetrains » Tue Aug 05, 2008 7:33 pm

Apparently NS has re-symboled old Triple Crown train 251 to 247 between Fort Wayne and Sandusky. Now today my friend seen NS 117 come off the Fostoria district and apparently it headed south on the New Castle district. Then he told me about hearing a 116 come north to Hugo on the New Castle, along with a 179. Are these new trains or just reroutes? Thanks in advance.

I heard from CJ that Triple Crown had done some consist changing although I can't remember the specifics of it right now. Also, not that it affects us here, but there will be a new Sandusky to Atlanta TC train starting to run soon down the Sandusky line through Marion, OH, Columbus, Portsmouth, ect. Currently no roadrailers travel this line so this will be a new thing to spot.

Just reroutes..also add the 287 to the mix which runs from Lordstown, Ohio to the Mixing Center in Shelbyville, KY.

The reason being a pedestrian hit and killed over on the Dayton District while wondering over the Mad River Bridge in Springfield Ohio which 116, 117, and 179 travel on. And as for the Roadrailer 249 it also travels down the Dayton district.
