Caboose Hop

Post by Notch 8 » Sat Nov 20, 2010 5:59 am

I have recently started to categorize (tag) my photo's such as Structures,Locomotives,Cabooses and etc. and what suprises me is the number of cabooses that are hanging out all over the place. Private individuals are interesting because of the passion they put into their car and sometimes the lack of passion, Seems like individuals are good for 20-40 years of up keep of a car before they to become tired, like they caboose they decided to save, And the car sometimes fall by the wayside and gets neglected again sometime to the point of no return, You will notice what I say in the following photo's Just how many times can a person move a caboose ?
Is there any former conductors on this board ? I think it would had been neat to cruise in a cupalo wathing the train, I think it would had sucked to had walk the train in the dark in the rain with a knuckle or an air hose too. So not to sure about that conductors job, Anyone have bad stories about being the Conductor ?

The first caboose was up at Coldwater along 69.

Third caboose was East of Angola and was an exNYC. Where did it go?

Conductors didn't have it so bad. Most of the hard work,as you mentioned, was done by the flagman or us brakemen. Conductors were like the foremen in a factory are, there to make sure the job was done right.LOL

#4 with the CR transfer caboose should be Three Rivers, MI.

The DWP caboose is on the Adrian and Blissfield RR(most likely Blissfield).

BTW, I love telling people NS has a caboose 555555

Actually it's #18. That has been the only one I've known 100% and you beat me to it!

I would swear I've seen #37, wasn't there a GT caboose in Wyatt?
