QUITE A CHANGE OVER THE YEARS. THE LOT WHERE THE SEMI IS PARKED WAS WHERE THE FARM BUREAU SOLD COAL AND THEY HAD A BULK FUEL BUSINESS. ON TO THE EAST WAS A SMALL ASPHALT AND OIL PRODUCTS PLANT. THIS LOT WAS THE HOME OF THE HOUSE TRACK, WHICH USUALLY HAD A BROKEN RAIL OR TWO. WHEN SPOTTING CARS THEY WOULD KEEP 3 OR 4 CARS BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE CAR BEING SPOTTED SO THE ENGINE WOULD BE AWAY FROM THE BREAKS. ONE TIME THEY NEEDED TO PULL A CAR AND DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TO REACH IT. I TOOK MY JOHN DEERE IN AND PULLED IT OUT. SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A PICTURE.
ALSO, BEHIND THE PHOTOGRAPHER WAS THE BEST COFFEE SHOP IN TOWN, LOTS OF COFFEE CONSUMED THERE. TOP NOTCH BISCUITS AND GRAVY, TOO.
