The Baldwin switcher in Waterloo

Postby Chris7092 » Thu Apr 23, 2009 6:56 pm

Good evening,

Does anyone know the lineage of this unit? Also, when was it officially placed out of commission?

Thanks!

AFAIK it is a DS-4-4-1000 built 1/47 for the Detroit Terminal .It was #103 on the Detroit Terminal. Not sure of the dealer, but It was overhauled before it went to Waterloo. Joe

Ah I remember that post, thanks for bringing that up. So the place is owned by Bunge / Anderson's? I'm working a video of the Chicago Line so correct info is a must :D How do we pronounce "Bunge" anyway? is it "bun-gee" or pronounced like it's spelled?

I work for Bunge . Bun- gee with g pronunced like the g in "go" or "gear". Some Bunge plants are receiving 700 horsepower genset units . might be the Green Goat type. joe
