They are running a special on Samsung Ranges (stoves/ovens) at CP 360, when they are gone they are Gone ! Damage looks bad, but the damage to the ROW is minimal, damage too the containers did not appear to be that all bad either, no chemicals (cough cough) no injuries and the area is very accessible hopefully the CP is intact ! this CP was added in the last maybe 3 years, this was to help the congestion with the CP trains that ran this track now into Chicago via Port Huron. They come down the Detroit St Louis line and get onto the Former NYC Water Level Route into Chicago now

This is just west of Butler IN, there is a road and to get onto this road you go back over US 6 and then you go over the tracks as well on a Overpass ! which is where I took my photo's from, Nice vantage Point ....The road is the road to the SDI Steel Mill Co Road 42.
You can see a headlight in the background of the derailment, the headlight is that of 2 UP Locomotives sitting at the CP in Waterloo IN, Andersons can be seen in the background as well which is mm 364

Our Man, Notch8 ,took these photos from the bridge over the Waterlevel, that takes
a county road South to SDI. The cp pictured is mp 360.Butler is mp 358.So, the
location is just West of Butler along US 6.

A reliable journalist on Trainorders reports that
Westbound passengers on Amtrak are being bussed
to their destinations.Another says that Amtrack is stopped at
Edgerton, Ohio. This equipment could be combined 29 and 49,
waiting to move West empty.A earlier report says 2 Eastbound mail
trains have moved through the derailment site. What a fine
scoop by Notch8 to the Fort Wayne Railfan !!

Would appreciate any info.

21G is at mp 136 now.
Amtrack equipment just turned the corner at Butler.
Will it come as far South as NE?

Something lined south through St. Joe( ATCS monitor), will they run Chicago Dist if its the Amtrak equipment????? Send em down the CF&E!! thats a better idea!! Soon they could head back up to Chicago line at Goshen thru Claypool to bypass troubles where this happened.

The Amtrak train was parked on the backside of East Wayne Yard ready to head west on the NKP at 3:30 PM.

Well, 3 trains showing on NKP between 4 mile and Runnion, probably be dark when it gets to Claypool anyway, might head down just to see how my luck is to see it.
