Post by Conrail713 » Sat Jan 07, 2012 10:01 am

Freshly painted NS caboose, NS tanker, and a few other pictures from East Wayne yard. Is the tanker used for special service?

The tanker was for diesel fuel for Locomotives, I think somewhere was mention that it was to be scrapped.

Black Caboose is a little on the bland side, I thought they would make it more visable not less...

It says on the car not to load enroute for dismantle..

Anyone know why the tank car is still outside the shops at the yard?

Yes, it is still sitting there coupled to the black caboose, it has been there for weeks in the middle shop track.

As an update, they must not liked the black, as the caboose has now been painted red! I like it better now :)

Nice catch Rob, I didn't see this caboose when I was back home in New Haven a couple weekends ago and drove thru East Wayne. Gonna have to look for it the next time I'm in town and get a photo of it for my records as I snagged one before I moved of it in black paint.

L69 had a caboose (red variety) in the middle of its consist heading South toward Muncie. I didn't catch the number as I was looking out a window between trees.
