We plan to do some testing with the MU box and cab signals once NS no. 8100 arrives but whether or not we leave New Haven will be up to the railroad. Keep an eye out for the heritage unit because for the next two and a half months it'll be everywhere we are.

Some initial testing went alright yesterday, so if you live between Muncie and Fort Wayne today, listen for the whistle.

I don't have any details as far as train symbol or departure times, but the plan (always subject to change when railroading) calls to continue testing later today.

You can print out the entire schedule here and don’t forget our Annual Open House on September 29th and 30th at our shop in New Haven, Indiana. Keep in mind, the ferry moves don’t run on any particular timetable or schedule, so use our GPS tracker and check Facebook and Twitter and please do rail preservation a favor by respecting private property, railroad property, and fellow fans!

New Membership Offerings

We’ve opened up a brand new members only area of our website where everything we do is documented in detail for our members. Get advance notice of operations, events, and news items like those you see here with a membership. Levels start at $15.00 and any level or donation over $100.00 gets you a free copy of our brand new book! Learn more about membership offerings here or purchase one today.

How to Rebuild a Berkshire

Nearly 300 photos of the 765′s rebuilding are now online, complete with a blow-by-blow timeline of everything we did to rebuild the 765 from the ground up between 2000 and 2005 after 14 years of excursion service. Ever wanted to rebuild a locomotive? Take a look at the steps we took, dollars spent, and the incredible amounts of volunteer dedication that brought the 765 back to life after 12 years of dormancy.
Listen for the Whistle

We kicked off our 40th year with a brand new video — 40 seconds for 40 years, but every moment counts. If you haven’t seen it, watch it here. If you have, it’s a glimpse of more to come.

Kelly,

Great info. I hope you didn't post all that in response to my prior post. I was lamenting MY decision to wait until later to look at this site. I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY to know ahead of 765 going by the house, I just didn't take it.
