WABASH HERITAGE UNIT IN FORT WAYNE!!!

Post by joe22a994 » Sun Dec 02, 2012 9:42 am

I was just checking http://heritageunits.com/ for heritage unit locations, and I saw, when I moved my mouse over the little dot over Fort Wayne expecting to see NKP765 (765 is tracked on this site too), but to my amazement, NS1070 (Wabash) at Fort Wayne,IN 11/30/2012 3:00:00. I clicked the dot, and the comment said that it was expected to stay for several days.

I went to check last night but there was nothing there. I was wondering why there was a bunch of people walking around the car shops. They wouldn't put the Heritage Unit in the car shops, would they? Yes, I know this thread is worthless without pics, but I couldn't get any without probably crashing whatever party they had.

Still there? I was just asking since I don't want to waste gas going out to E. Wayne and not finding any thing. And another question, WHERE?

Edit: It's on it's way to Elkhart on 365. Where WAS it?

Crap, I was in South Whitley when 365 went through, but I couldn't see the tracks from where I was working at the time.

It was buried behind the fuel rack. I was lucky to see about three feet of the nose and the number 1070. The rest was totally hidden. would have liked to see the whole unit, but I got got plenty of pics when it was in town to run with #765. Plus the weather was so gloomy, and they would have sucked anyway.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/78129268@N ... otostream/ was it on its way to Decatur just north of South Speicher
I had to follow it a bit and got a nice ending shot at Peru crew change, even if you can not tell what it is http://www.flickr.com/photos/78129268@N ... otostream/ I had good or interesting light on a day that did not see much sun.
