PTC comes to NCD
Well the new vader signals have been up for a long time (has it been a year?) with no visible progress. Yesterday, a new antenna went up at the Bluffton Hold-out signal. The original ACTS antenna is still where it's always been. Now a 2nd tilting mast has a double-loop antenna about 40' away.

Re: PTC comes to NCD
It means they are making progress installing PTC (positive train control) compatable signals on the New Castle District. PTC uses radio communications between train, line-side devices and the the "back-office" to keep everyone where they belong. It uses a loop-shaped antenna vs. ATCS's straight whip antenna. The new signals have a large shroud around them reminiscent of Darth Vader's helmet. They have been sitting here with the heads turned away for a long time. Now, there appears to be some more visible activity around these signals.

Old signals were removed today, resting on a flatbed truck. I wish I could've bought them if they were available, although I know my wife would kill me if I did.
