East end of the ND&W being lifted

Crews from Pioneer Railcorp have started salvaging track materials for the section of severed trackage on the north side of US24. I was surprised how many decent ties they actually piled up. And so the former Wabash 5th District gets a little shorter as the section between US24 to the east side of Liberty Center will be used to keep the remaining section in service.

I noticed in the last week the Crews from Pioneer/ND&W have lifted the remaining rails just north of US24 to a couple miles west of Liberty Center has been pulled and awaiting to be picked up.

On a side note Pioneer has merged with Brookhaven Rail Partners and this was announced last week.
