I'm sorry for the short notice, but in a week and a half it will be time for the Conrail Historical Society's 4th annual Marion, OH Rail-BQ on Saturday July 27th at the Marion Union Station. This event is FREE to attend and you do not have to be a member of the society. The depot, tower, and model railroad club will be open for your viewing pleasure throughout the day and there will be a slide show in the evening starting at 7pm. The Society will have its merchandise table set up for those that wish to purchase a souvenir. We will be grilling food(the typical grill fare; burgers, hotdogs, etc) and for those that desire more, the Shovel Restaurant is located on site. Food is also free but donations are appreciated. The slide presenters this year are: Dale DeVene, Dave Oroszi, Rich Weller, and Tom DeWinter. I know Marion is a 2 and a half hour drive from New Haven, but if you can make it, it'll be worth it as NS has been known to run some of those heritage units on its tracks going past the depot. Hope to see a few of you there this year!

Just a reminder that this event is two days away! Also, I apologize but in a late breaking development, the society is NOT bringing its grill this year to the event. Instead they are going to do something, yet to be determined, for lunch and dinner will be on your own. Thankfully the Shovel restaurant is on the property for those who don't want to go far for dinner. Snacks, sides, and drinks will still be provided for free, but donations are always welcome.

Just to update everyone, the food issue has been settled. Apparently the society's grill is "bad ordered"(aka its broken) which is why they aren't bringing it this year. So instead they are going to provide fried chicken, potato salad, and such for lunch Saturday.
