The family and I went down to New Haven on Sunday to check out the Ft Wayne Railroad Historical Society's open house and I picked up a copy of their documentary Listen for the Whistle. When we got home I was tired and didn't feel like mowing the lawn so I watched the movie instead, with intentions on falling asleep on the couch to the sounds of a steam locomotive. Well, the movie was so good I couldn't fall asleep, I was too enthralled to close my eyes. Props to Kelly Lynch and the rest of the crew on a great documentary on the history of the locomotive from it's days in service to resurrection from static display and return to steam all the way up through it's trip over Horseshoe Curve last year.
I suggest the Blu-ray version as it has 20 minutes of extra footage from the early restoration process thats really cool, not to mention the superb HD quality video shot in recent years.
