I went through Yoder,IN the other day and I saw a grain elevator there. You can usualy find a few tankers on the siding on the New Castle District about 1 1/2 miles south of I-469. When the farmers are harvesting corn and beans there are usualy hoppers there. When there aren't trucks there you can pull up next to the siding near the post office.I don't know the switching operations, but I did see one time they were puting some tankers on the end of a train.

I believe there is a ag dealer at the South end of the siding that takes deliveries via tank car.

Yoder Grain is owned by my wife's family (Springer's), they do get occasional grain cars, then move then around with a front end loader on a tractor, the Fertilizer Plant is on the South-end, it gets some cars in there as well. I was gonna talk Greg into letting me shoot footage from up the grain bins, lol, it would make a nice shot though.....

The L68/L69 locals from Muncie work there.
They work Muncie to Fort Wayne and then Fort Wayne to Muncie.

On an average day L69 will work Yoder around 1500. On Mondays more like 1730. L68 (the Northbound local) is less consistant as to time of day at Yoder.

Heck, the L68 can't ever seem to know how much time he will get for Poneto. Heard him get soaked at Montpelier the other day. :lol:

At least L68 is almost done by the time they get to Poneto. There are (too many, IMHO) days when L69 ends up dead in Kingsland, the first siding out of the fort!

It is not the first siding. There is a siding at Yoder Grain.

Yoder is a customer siding while Kingsland is a passing siding that is signalled and has dispatcher controlled switches. That makes Kingsland a much easier place to get a train out of the way.

It depends on what you call the 369 and 368. Usually, they run straight from the fort to Muncie and back. Once in a while, they will stop and do some local work like pick up the power from L68 or L69 when they die at the ethanol plant (or somewhere along the way) on Friday. That way the units are fueled up and ready Monday at the originating terminal (yard).

L68 can go through Yoder anytime from noonish to 5pm.

It depends upon too many varibles to nail it down. (do they have to make up the train in Muncie or get on and go; how many mailine through trains in the way; is the dispatcher in a good mood; how much work do they have to do before they get there; are the pick-ups buried behind loads that have to be respotted; does the ethanol plant have thier blue flags up and won't answer the phone; is the ^%$# on 700N on the warpath; ......)
