Was Nickel Plate down town built in 1955

Was Nickel Plate down town built in 1955

Was there already tracks through downtown before they elevated the tracks or was that when the line was originally built in 1955

Thank you. That filled in a lot of blanks. Wonder if there are photos out there of the tracks before elevation. I also didn't know it was built on the canal. I wonder if there's photos of the canal as well.

Yes there are photos of it before the line was elevated.
