A resident of Churubusco who also worked on the RR said that the last train was a locomotive and empty hopper that left for LaOtto in Aug. 1968, five years before official abandonment. Apparently the tractor business had disappeared by then.

About 1.7 miles of the original Eel River RR track is still in place but unused in Logansport, which was the west end of the 94 mile line. It runs east-west on the north side of the city. Under PRR, it was operated jointly with the South Bend Branch on the north side of Logansport.

Case purchased American Tractor in 1957 and moved the production to Burlington, IA and closed the plant in 1960 or 61.

Does the Ag-grain operation currently on the north side of 205 sit on the same dirt as Snyder grain did back then?

I made one correction and updated the aerial with other industries that were in Churubusco c.1960. The correction was the freight depot, which was on the north side of the track, not south side.
