norfolk southern
why are there so few norfolk southern ho scale products, I see more conrail and csx than norfolk let alone all union pacific models. now some companies have locos to offer but they arent very detailed, and there isnt the greatest selection of rolling stock.

And there is your answer. NS doesn't go to any interesting places like UP or the fallen flags it swallowed up did. It's cool to model routes over the rockies and Sierra Nevada or into sunny Califooonia. CSX has routes into sunny Fla or its fallen flags were popular, etc.
NS gets the job done in dull places (like the flat-lands of Indiana), how "glamorous" (or interesting or popular) is that?

LOL, YES.
Having said that, there are alot of NS modelers and models out there.
Many people don't model the NS because its plain jane to them. Go figure.
I don't model NS because I worked for em, and I wanted to model something else.

I model NS in Ohio/Indiana, and to me thats far more interesting than some western locales. Any railroad can become plain jane if you railfan it enough. See a thread in the history board about modelling the EL west of Marion...that's me!
